Well, if we can't find anyone else...

While browsing the Indy Star over lunch, FIN noticed that the Democratic State Party is having U.S. Representative Harold Ford, Jr. speak at their Jefferson-Jackson Day Dinner. Apparently he is a candidate for U.S. Senate down in Tennessee.

We were beginning to think that it was a little odd to have an out-of-state Senate candidate speaking at their annual dinner, especially since the Congressman doesn’t seem to have a lot of star power. That’s when we remembered that the Indiana Democrats don’t have a Senate candidate of their own. They’ve been unable to get anyone to run against Senator Richard Lugar, who is up for re-election this fall.

They could always ask their Golden Boy, Evan Bayh. Sadly for them, he’s moved on to bigger and better places like Iowa and New Hampshire. He’s way too focused on his desire for the national spotlight to care about Indiana anymore.

What's really funny is that link about Iowa says Bayh was raising money for "local Democrats." You would think he'd want to raise some money in his home state.

You know Sen. Bayh is speaking at the event, right? No wonder no one visits this blog. A friend said it existed but this is lame stuff.

If Bayh has found time in his campaign schedule to drop by and say a few words then good for them. It still doesn't change the fact that they have no challenger for Lugar and that Bayh has been out raising money for local Democrats in Iowa rather than in Indiana. However, you can check the Indy Star article and the Dems State Party website and it doesn't mention Bayh will be attending or speaking. Either way, this was posted based on the only information around. If it is indeed incorrect, then that’s our mistake. I do think if you check other blogs around you’ll see much more glaring inaccuracies that are usually done on purpose for political reasons. We don’t promise you’ll like our take on things, but we do have a commitment to the truth.

As for your comment about our lameness, no one is forcing you to read our blog. We welcome varying opinions and spirited debate but if we’re not your cup of tea, we won’t be crying ourselves to sleep tonight. Feel free to keep the comments coming.
