INDIANAPOLIS -- Investigators are taking a closer look at last month's scuffle between a city-county councilman and a Marion County sheriff's deputy.
Prosecutor Carl Brizzi has appointed a special prosecutor from Monroe County to look into allegations that City-County Councilman Ron Gibson shoved Deputy Jean Burkert, who was working security during Indiana Black Expo's Summer Celebration.
Gibson denies that he did anything wrong. He said Burkert was abusive. Both have filed complaints against one another.

If it'd been anyone else - he'd gone to .. and been released from .. the Marion County Jail.

As a City-County Council member, Ron Gibson should have displayed more respect for the deputy than any other citizen would. He is not above the law like he thinks he is. As far as being her "boss", he not any more than I am. If he has a complaint, he should take it through proper channels, not to the media. He's one of Frank and Barts cronies. The two men who hate LEO's the most, and they pulled the puppet stings on Mr Gibson to get him to file an unfounded complaint. Were there any witnesses? If the deputy WAS in the wrong, she should be directed to be more careful. Since Mr. Gibson was wrong, he should resign his position from the CCC, pack his bags, and move to another country.
